赤坂、一ツ木通りとコロンビア通りを結ぶ静かな通りの途中に、Rusticanella（ルスティカネラ）はひっそりと佇んでいる。

店内は、うすいオレンジ色と茶色に統一され、洗練されたデザインの中にアットホームな温かさが感じられる。座り心地の良いしっかりとした椅子、石畳を思わせる床、そして何よりスタッフの控えめながらも頼もしい応対が、温かさを確かなものにしている。

初めてであれば、\6,000のシェフディナーがお薦め。その日入手した素材にあわせて毎日変わるというこのディナーには、「この素材はこう調理する という料理界の常識を破っていきたい」という若きシェフ小板谷のポリシーが具現化されている。スタッフ、シェフと相談の上、自分だけのオリジナルメニューを楽しむことも可能。遠慮なく、ホールスタッフに声をかけて頂きたい。

初めて訪れる際には、駅からの距離が少々不安になる。しかし2回目からは、その距離に比例して高まる期待感を裏切らないお店と断言出来る。ちなみに店名のRusticanellaとは、“田舎風の”という意味。全てに感じられる温かさの源は、店名通りの良い意味での田舎的なもてなしにあるのかも。

Designed with earthy shades of light orange and brown, diners feel immediately at home in the sophisticated yet understated interior. Further setting the tone are the large comfortable chairs set around spaciously placed tables on the stone paved floor. Complimenting the decor and creating of the dining room a warm place to enjoy a fine Italian meal is the professional wait staff who look after guests with quiet confidence.

The 6,000 yen chef's special course is recommended for your first visit to Rusticanella. This course varies daily depending on the freshest ingredients that can be found at the market that morning. Young chef Koitaya enjoys breaking with conventional preparation methods often used for the various ingredients, and instead works to create new and exciting flavors and textures with his original style. Diners are encouraged to chat with the friendly kitchen and wait staff so that Koitayaﾕs kitchen may create for each guest a dish that is perfectly aligned with their individual taste.

The short walk from either Akasaka or Akasaka Mitsuke station will definitely be worthwhile.
